Monitoring Commission on Access to information established

According to Access to Information Law, a Monitoring Commission on Access to Information has to be formed. Therefore the commission was formed in the month of June 2015.
It is also mentioned in the law that the commission should have a Chairman, Deputy Chairman and a Secretary, Therefore, the election for the posts of the Chairman, Deputy and Secretary of Commission on Access to Information took place in the Ministry of Information and Culture. The following candidates from the following organizations were elected for the above-mentioned posts of the Monitoring Commission on Access to Information.
Sayed Ikram Afzali – Chairman
Ainudeen Bahaduri–Deputy Chairman
Noor Wali Khan Noor – Secretary
Integrity Watch Afghanistan is glad to be part of the commission because it is a good opportunity for IWA to work and advocate for a truly independent commission and a stronger Access to Information Law.
